A slightly irreverent contribution to the geometric sans genre, Spoof takes cues from rationalist predecessors like Futura, Neuzeit Grotesk and Avant Garde, but subverts the style with some exaggerated proportions and more grotesque elements.

Following Avant Garde, Spoof adopts the rationalist constraint of orthogonal terminals, lending the illusion of calm uniformity. Uncomfortably tight aperatures, some unbalanced forms, and an ungainly underbite in the open-bowled glyphs all erode that feeling of precision, creating a gawkish look.
